My dear Mother & Father
I am afraid my letter this week will only be quite a short one as I have no letter of yours to answer only to getting??? 2 last week. I think the mail this week will not be in till Sunday so I have two or three days to wait yet.
You will find all the news is in the Diary which is a fairly long one and so will make up for the shortness of the letter, at least I hope it will.
Other news is scarce???. Yesla??? has gone to the Gulf or at any rate he has ??? in to say he has reached Karachi???. He was rather anxious about the passage as he is a very bad sailor, but he has great faith in a patent??? plaster.
Tupper has got a job in the staff as Brigade Major to the Putts??? Brigade. Coron??? has got the OAA??? & QMO??? to our old Brigade at Calcutta. Leonard Jackson is now Brigade Major Robert??? a bad??? Brigade so things have moved a little as regards officers.
