Tue Oct 27 S'bourne Paraded at 10:45 for an Inspection by the Brigadier today. He just said Good.bye. He seemed very sorry at having to leave us. he sook hands with all the officers before riding off to the 10th.
Mrs. Parry ??? Evans suggested that Pater and Mater might like to come down today or tomorrow, so as it coincided with a suggestion in the Maberi ??? luter ??? this a.m. I wired to Pater "cone to-day or to-morrow have not wired home" As I found out later Pater phoned to Mrs. Alexander to tell the Mater. The net result was that I got a wire about 3.30 saying "Shall arrive 5.43. Wired Bull for room".
Accordingly I went to the Bull to see if they had the room to reserve and found that they had. Spent the aft. packing. Had tea @ The Hubbards then went down to Rr. Station. For a ??? the SECR was not more than 2 mins. late. Took the people to the Bull first then down to the Nicona??? for dinner (by request).
S'bourne We. Oct 28 Busy in the morning over baggage etc. Mater and Pater turned up at the Vicarage and stayed to Lunch.
Finished packing in the aft. then went up to the Harrisses to tea.
Had a short walk afterwards via Bull. Rec. Gore Court and Bell Lance. Back at the Vicarage about 6.0. Said G.B. (or rather Mater and Pater said GB) to Vicar and Mrs. P.E. then adjourned for the Station.
Mr. Beech (sent???) came down this aft.
