Wed. Oct. 28

to see his wife & son. He went up with Pater & Mater on the 7.9. Said G.B. to Pater & Mater on the station wonder how long it will be before I see them again. Six months at the very least I expect.

Had dinner at the vicowage???.

Called on Mrs. Colonel & her two daughters which made me just a trifle late for the said dinner. On my way back from Mrs. Colonel I saw one Middi Carl collecting wanted & cabin. Therefore as I had just heard Frankau & the CO arranging that cabin stuff should not be collected until tomorrow. I explained briefly to the dower my opinions on the subject of collecting people's cabin baggage unlocked! Result was that my cabin trunk was returned to me again about 9.0.

S.S. Dilana. Thur. Oct. 29

Turned out at 5.45 to finish packing & to lock my cabin trunk. Conseq. it was ready when they called for it ab 6.15. Did nothing strenuous until brekker at 8.30 sharp. The last meal - for some time at any rate - at he Vicarage.

Wandered up to the Waverley after Brekker, found an acknowledgment from Cox & Co the 30 I sent them on Sunday to open an a/c. I wired to Pater not to worry them about it as he had intended doing - had not the said receipt tured up "Cox receipt to hand Good Bye to all"

At 9.30 we paraded - in Helmets. I as carrying a haversack - heavy with oddments including a packet of sandwiches from the Vicarage people the Vicar & Mrs. P.E. turned up to see our Co off so we gave them 3 churs??? each.
