I was rather amused when I asked the Syce what had happened + what was the cause of it all. this explanation was very brief. "Sahib can't ride!" The cause of the trouble was that Noad??? apparently tried to keep himself on by his spurs, which is a thing no self-respecting pony will stand! He was a bit of an idiot to wear them on a pony he didn't know. I was riding Slacks pony + had no trouble with it at all, except that I wanted a ladder to get up there!
Well I am very near post time so I must close - I meant to tell you that I wasn't happy till I had been out on "Snooker" again after he had dropped poor Noad off! I went to thauspn??? in him this morning + had no trouble with him at all beyond a little skittishness which I get as which is probably what made Noad try to stay on by his spurs yesterday.
