General Idea.

A line running East and West through Dunga Gali forms the "Durand" Boundary line between the Independent State of Chiltstan and India. The Administrative Boundary line between British India and Tribal territory runs East and West through Upper Barian.?? The Ghora Dhaka - Barian?? Road is a Government Road and the country for one mile on each side of the road is British territory. Ghora Dhaka and Barian are Forts each held by half a Battalion of Frontier Militia. The tribesmen are Afridis, Murree?? is a large Cantonment.

Special Idea

At the beginning of August the Chiltis collected a force at Nathja Gali. The Indian Government, fearing trouble, sent the troops as noted below * to Ghora Dhaka. During the first week of September the Chilt troops dispersed and Government decided to with-draw the Ghora Dhaka column to Murree.
