Thursday July 13th..
Range again this afternoon. We all but finished "Qualification" when we were hung up by mist. It seemed likely to remain for the rest of the afternoon so we gave it up. I distinguished myself by making 19 on the 400. How I did it I don't quite know.
Had my Pushtu lesson at the Muushi's tent to-day + had tea there! Owing to the mist I was 1/2 hr and I disturbed the poor chap's nap.
Friday July 14th
It rained vigorously to-day so I washed out Firing this morning.
Mess meeting - at Ghora Dhaka!- at 2/30. The most important item was an increase in the band subscription to make up what the G.gs??? does us out of. At present the band is making a dificit??? of about RS 70 a month. So now subscriptions are to be RS6 a month for subalteres and RS 8 a month for Captains +upwards. I badly wanted to suggest RS. 10 for Field officers but hadn't the cheek!
