coming up. As luck had it there was just & only just with a big squeeze - room to pass but seemed quite certain what the other was going to do and the result was a ????. No damage was done. Our front spring got caught in the spoke of his off front wheel & we had to jack our car up to get them apart but that was satisfactorily managed and we went on our way rejoicing again. After that we had an uneventful drive to Kohat. Kohat itself is like a young - very young Peshawar. It is an independent Brigade & is garrisoned by Cooke's Rifles & some R.A. & possibly other units of which we saw nothing. We were uncertain quite what to do when I suddenly got the brilliant notion of going to the Railway Station & trying to get tea. We did and got it!

At 3:30 we started our return journey. All went well to the top of the Pass and over. When we got into the ??? again at the bottom of the hill we noticed a few ???? Rifles about and actually counted 2 short Lee Enfields & 3 TF (MK I*) among the countless ????. Just as we were about 2 miles from the British side (inside the ???) we got another puncture. So there was nothing for it but to get out & march it When this was happening a crowd collected as it would anywhere. This crowd consisted of ??? though and among them
