Went for a ride in the afternoon. While I was having tea in the Mess the A.D.T. called. He ws a jolly chap (Assist Director of Transport). He said that the General had asked him to change one of our mules! This G.O.C. certainly has a knack of doing things & getting things done. In addition to that 2 brand new MK IV Tripods arrived at the Quarter Master's stores this morning without bringing a chit to say why they had come. That looks very like the G.O.C. again. Naturally I am very bucked with life.

Monday Feb 7th
Training as usual in the morning & Parade in the afternoon. Went out with Lamont to tea & on to the Club.
Tuesday Feb 8th
Training in am. Parade in afternoon. Talked about Indirect Fire, Overhead Fire & so on.
Went out for a ride with Williamson at 4/0. He was on the Qr Ms's new pony. We went very much across country & oncwe struck a mullah that was so steep we had to get off & lead the ponies. When we did get on the level again the pony nearly got away with me but not quite. Then we got on to the race-course.
