Road out in the afternoon with Frankan, the Major & Tupper to choose a course for the Cross Country Race in the Christmas Sports. We got one about 3 miles long. Partly on the island. It is quite a good one. There are two fords to be crossed.

Managed to do a little M.P. work today but quite a battle. It will be a change when I can get all my men.
Helped Mieville run some of the heats of the Christmas Sports today.
Thursday December 23
Wrote mail practically all day.
More sports in aft.
Friday December 24
Used the few men I had today in getting out our handing over lists. Quite a job.
Finished mail in the afternoon then had a short ride. The pony has much more go in him than he had.
Exciting evening in Mess. Fisher was very amusing by the time we left & insisted on turning out the Police Guard! It doesn't do to mix drinks! The Major was cheery so was Jack Hewlett. A merry evening.
