He returned in about 2 mins??? paid Bulmer???, got his receipt, when he went into the O.R. again &??? in about 2 mins??? Bulmer??? followed, talked for a bit & left. About an hour later - Scaven??? & Ambler??? left 5 mins after Bulmer???. Bope??? had fusked??? his figuring & went to Count the Cash. Found it wasn't on the table where he had before. Concluded he had re-locked it up in the box. But "May??? hie???" Reported it to Hennings??? as A.Q.M.S. that's the whole story.
Circumstantial evidence is very strong against Bulmer??? & from what I know of him I very much "hae ma douts" but I doubt whether a C.M. will convict. This beastly enquiry kept Captain??? Williamson??? & myself at it from 9.30 till 12.0. Then I had to start my S.S.O. work.
