Work was much as usual to-day. Didn't get any exercise tonight, as I was O.O.

Early parade as usual. Saw Somerwell at 9.30 but he couldn't give me much information, so it's a question of using [xxx]. I may not have to go all the way to [B???} now. As the train stops at every station for the whole 986 miles perhaps that is rather a blessing than otherwise.

Most important event to-day is that we all had to report at the Baattn. O.r. at 10/30 to have our Confidential Reports communicated to us. Mine is quite a good one. "Do you recommend this officer for accelerated promotion?" Yes.
"Do you recommend this officer for promotions?" Yes
"Do you recommend this officer for retarded promotion?" No
"Is this officer fit to retain his present task?" Yes
Remarks:
A hard working & intelligent officer fully capable of performing the duties of Lieutenant Commissioned for the O.T.C.!
And what can man want more?
Played tennis in eve. Played with Jackson [??] the C.O. & Lionel. We won the first set 6-2 & lost the second 6-5.
The Mobile Column turned out at 7.0 this morning. I was doing Hickling's job as Galloper [??] to O.C. Column. I had old 100 again. This time though I had spurs which
