Parades as usual. It was warm work on Sgt. Maj. Parade. As I was Orderly Dof??? I had to go round the Barracks with Herbert which- with a visit to Arrah took from 9 to 11.30. Then we collapsed in the Mess for a drink, well earned.

Slept after Tiffin

One of our "C" Cg??? men died in Hospital this morning & was buried this aft. at 6.0. Nearly the whole Bn. turned out for the funeral.

C.E.M.S meeting this eve. We got through an agenda of 10 items in an hour which was good work.

Tue. Apr. 13.

No Sgt. Maj. Parade this a.m. thank heaven. It got to 70 in the shade yesterday. It seems that it doesn't get much hotter only more unpleasant- when it rains.

hills. Lucky dogs. So I am O.O. "A". Played a very scratch game of Tennis with Higgins in the eve. As it is some Hindu festival there were no chokfras??? and we had to field our own balls- which is no catch.

Churiers??? in eve. Have taken over the Sec'ship while Manley is away in the Hills.

Wed.Apr.14

Parades as usual. C.O came on Sgt. Maj. Parade today while I was taking the Cog. Musketry 9.0-10.0.

Then I spent a busy hour with Major Hewitt taking over P.R.I. from him. He is going away for a fortnight as Jackson is in Hospital. I am the only remaining member of the Institutes Committee & consequently get the job.
