158 Sat. Mar. 13

We were treated to a thunderstorm last night. There was not a great amount of lightning but the rain came down in sheets.

Paraded at 6.30. About 7.0 we moved. We went out beyond the canal this time. Wen we got out & commenced to fire, down came the rain. It rained in sheets & in about 5 mins. we were all wet through. All things considered they did very well. We were on top on the days who I think.

I got back into camp about 9.0 & proceeded to change. At 9.15 when I was in a state of nature I suddenly heard a band. They sounded about 1/2 mile away only, so I hustled some. At 7.30 the rest of the Bn. with the Band came in. We had heard this band first before they turned the corner at Muncer???

When they did ccame Royes & I had a busy hour seething them in. ???DIAGRAMM???

The afternoon we had "off" so I slacked in the most approved manner.

Sun. Mar. 14

Church parade at the unearthly hour of 7.15. It was quite a short service and the Padre gave us a beautifully short address. He went off after Breakfast to an out station 200 miles away!

The rest of the day I slacked.
