Mater's Birthday. Many happy returns of the day Mother! That ugly faced heathen hasn't turned up with the present yet. I shall swear at him some when he does come. Time of course is no object in India. If you promise a thing for to-morrow, a month??? hence does quite as well!
Turned out at the 7.15 this morning quite a fair no. there.
I see by this mornings paper that the Mail Boat isn't in till Tue. which means we shan't get our letters out in Camp until Friday! -- ! -- ! --
Got stuck??? for the lessons at Church in the evening??? & I had Romans XVI. Heavens! As we are turning out early to-morrow I amturning in early tonight.

Turned out at 4.0! Got round to the Mess for Brekker at about 4.45. As it was not quite ready it was about 5.40 before I left.
Arrived at Arrah??? Parade Ground just before 6.0 & found workers??? out but no Companies out???. However by the time the Major arrived (6.15) I was able to go up in style & report "Detachment Present Sir!"
