He disappeared finally from the Trenches. He said "Yes quite well carried out but I think you might have left a few men just to make a splutter" "Yes sir" says Beach "that's exactly what happened; The splutterers had deceived him! We pushed right back across the San??? while the splutterers sniped from the various buildings en route and made them go cautiously. As it was getting rather late "B" Co. did not pursue us across the River. We said of course that they were afraid of the water!

At 3.0 we had a swap for prize distribution. We ran a Musketry Competition with prizes as follow:-
