The table was very nicely decorated with leaves & flowers & we have now got our floors matted & our curtains up. The curtains are cram with a single green stirpe. We had quite a jolly evening. I played solidly from 10 to 12 when I struck. Beach got very jolly on countless glass of "Fizz"
Sat Jan 2. Turned out at 10 to 7 for ??? parade & conseq. did not arrive ther till 7.20. However the Coy. was Physical Drilling very happily then. Arrive 9.0. parade the Coy. went to the Polo Ground in Hickling's charge while Beach & I ??? around doing 213 [Sat Jan 2. little odd ??? do. ??? other things I went up to ???Ram to draw pay for the Coy. About 11.30 I went in Parade. At 12.0 we stood by for Hewetts Inspection of Barracks. Pay Parade in aft. Beach turned up for a wonder so I had nothing much to do. Now the Proclamation Parade is over he has more or less resumed his old position of O.C. "A" Coy. Spen a lay time doing nothing in the evening.
