Wed Dec. 23 Woke up at Patma?? & proceeded to dress. We were a bit late at Dinapore, not arriving till 6.35. The only conveyance I could get at the station was a 3rd class gharry??? & a box on wheels at that. I found Beach & Frankan at Brekkers at the Mess & joined them. The gharry?? -- a pucca one this time -- was ordered for 8.0. At about 8.30 we set off to the Station again. Our train was a trifle late & rather full. However, at 11.0 we arrived at D??? R???? & were met by Mr. Wilson Miss Wilson 7 Miss Harper -- a friend -- & a chap who is at Dum Dum???? with our left half. Normally he is the Punjabis. We drove to the house which is a lovely place -- most tastefully furnished, & were received by our hostess. It is of course a bungalow. We were at once initiated into the mysteries of their meal times here. They are thus: -- (Tea in bed) 8 - 9.30 Chota Hazri? Breakfast 12.0 Hazri.... They call it breakfast but it is really lunch
