Spent the morning in the market museum & shopping again. The market is rather like a white city hall combined with Smithfield! You can get every normal thing there & most of the shops are booth sort of places like you see at Exhibitions!
I was feeling a little off color in the aft so I slept til 4.0. Then I corrected my new clothes & had a walk round the city. Saw the P.O. & High Court Army other places, got back in time to change for dinner.
Left the hotel after a ??? course at 8.30 got to the station at 8.45 (calculate time) The train was very full & it was difficult to get a berth. However I found one vacant. Soon a chap came up & stormed about. He had booked a couple of berths & expected a whole ??? reserved to himself. However he ??? down & we had quite a pleasant chat. He was an A. W. Watson & knows ??? very well. He knew Wilson whom I go to tomorrow.
Calcutta is a very European town. There is ??? nothing very interesting. The museum I went over this morning was rather interesting. It is pretty good. The Public Buildings & the shops in the main streets are rather fine but there is nothing otherwise.
There is mules more green about the place than I expected to see. There are in fact open spaces galore. The ??? course is very nice. The streets ??? the main ones are wide.
