Batch order now out. "2 MOVE The Battalion will embark for India on 20th October 1914. All ranks will be granted 48 hours leave, .... the right half Battn will proceed on leave on Sunday afternoon next ......"

Wed Oct 14.

Out today. Knee rather slid so that by week is a little bit weird. Still it is something to be out. 50 of the Cy were innoculated yesterdy 28 are away at Hythe??? there are about 21 details are sick So the result is a Company of 16. Some did not go out today. All these are doing well. No one is really bad.

Thursday Oct 15

Knee still dicky Did not go out much (Waverley ???)

Friday Oct 16. heard??? from Uncle Wallace today. It seems quite likely that he will Convoy us to India I hope so anyhow. Did not go further than the Waverley

Saturday Oct 17 Had a busy morning paying out pay & kit allowances. We paraded at 9.0 & started a weeding out process. The Indian Government will only pay for a Bn. not 1025 so 24 have to go from our Company. It was a rotten job chucking out. There were only about 4 we were really glad to get rid of. Then we paid the Coy. Then we had a photo taken in the vicarage gdn. The whole company first; then N Cost offers. Hope it comes out better than "???" Coy me. Then we paid out kit allowances ?? did while Beach looked on & Hicklery?? paid bills. And we made bd??? in the
