Sat. Oct 17 whole transactions. The kit allowances went fairly satisfactorily except that one or two men grumbled that they were docked too much. On the whole though things were alright.

Did not go out in afternoon. Was asked by Mrs. Parry Evans to write in her Visitors Book. My inscription was "Leonard F. Findley 9th Bn. Middx. ??? Regt. Sept. 25th 1914 (Su??? 5 9 ): ?????????????????????????????

Our Ex-padre Bartholemew was at the Vicarage for Supper. (I beg its pardon - Dinner) He is to take our Church Parade tomorrow being a Farewell Service and so is stopping at the Vicarage to-night.

Mrs. P.E. relieved about 9.30. Padre I and Vic went on discussing war and wars and rumors therof until about 10.30 when we turned in likewise.

Sun. Oct. 18 Put Vaseline on the knee instead of Bracie ??? Ointment today. Result is that it seems easier but whether or no it will heal quicker I don't know.

The photos came along about 8.30. They are really very good. We had a pretty busy morning returning kits and so on. Fisher Conducted the Company to the Ba??? Parade Ground and the Station. I strolled down on my own. The Special left at 7.30 and got to Victoria at 3.0 after stopping at Henne??? Hill and Brixton. Hewlett Sherwood Higgins and myself taxied to Victori and arrived there in nice time for a train at 3.25. As we went quite "on spree" it was pretty good work. I took the taxi home from the Sta. Mater and Pater were just coming out of the gate to
