Sun. Oct 4. Took Fisher's turn as Orderly Dog to-day as he took the lion's share of my turn last Monday. Had Collin's ??? for my B.O.S. Nothing very exciting happened. Slacked in aft. Made out our Programme of Training for next week and sent it in. It is really a work of art. Vide??? my AB 153 p 7 ft. !!!
Mon. Oct 5 Usual are to-day. We were in the Field S. of track heading from Blackerts. We did "Active Defence". Quite a long time was spent in lecturing. Then we half dug some trenches and sent out a section to make an attack. Our counter attack on the left got rather badly wiped out. On the right it more or less succeeded.
Co. parade at 3.10 in aft. Did a little Ceremonial, in the way of sizing the Co. Did it wice. They go fairly smart at it in time. Tea at the Vicarage.
N.C.O's lecture at 6.30. Talked to them on Fire Trenches: Guards: and dictated the Programme for next week.
Tue Oct 6. Had a very nice Advanced Guard Action this morning. We took the road that goes thro the S. of MURSTON (1" map). I went out with a section and laid an ambush. ??? DIAGRAM ???
