The Valse Triste was weird but vg. 56 is a lovely little thing, and lively too. The audience clamoured for an encore & would not be denied rules or no rules so Sir Henry had perforce to give in. The Cello Solo was overlong but good. Rather modern. The Ballet Music was very good indeed in fact that & 5(b) were the two best things.

Part II 1. Brought in the Sailors Hornpipe. THe audience did a crescendo stamping touch??? at the last two notes of the phrase. About 20 did it the first time but nearly??? the whole house was doing it finally.
