Left the "Imperial" about 9:45 this a.m. Went to Jessund??? Station (NER) and eventually reached Central Station. We had to change on the way to Manor and the train from their did exactly hurry. From the Cent. we went for a walk thro' the town. Saw Maud at Lowe's and said good-bye to her. Then went back to the Station where we found U. Sam??? waiting to see us off. Our train was supposed to come thro' from York R to leave Newcastle @ 11:14 but at 11:30 a mouldy NER wandered in backwards and was announced as "Edinboro Express". We got an empty - and I kept it. We left @ 11:??? and having a fat H. H. 2 on got moving well but were pulled up with a jerk outside Healson! In about 2 mins we got going again and moved very well thence except for about 3 service slacks to Edin. Instead of bringing us into Waverly Sta proper they had the sence to land us at the Excursion Station next door. However, that left us a shorter distance to walk to the "Cockburn" so we decided not to report the matter to the General Manager as we had thought of doing! After finding our rooms we sallied forth in search of lunch - and found it! Then we had a stroll along Princes St looking at the shops, re??? to our "pub" about 5.0.
We wtore ???? to the matre R then slacked till dinner. After dinner we insisted a Cinema. They had quite a nice programme. It finished about 11.0 so we walked straight home and up to bed. We have one room with two beds. My bed is in the seperate room leading our of the other. There is just room for the bed longways and 2 ?? along the side!
