spare pole caught in the root of a tree ???DIAGRAM??? thus. He then had a sudden desire to land. The bank had a gradient of 1 in 1 so although he got both feet on, he slipped back. Of course in getting out he had pushed the punt out, so there was a nice space for him to fall into. he went in up to his chest splashing us horribly in doing so. He went straight home from the Rollers & changed meeting us again at Keble in the Parks. Got back about 7.0. Cadina for dinner.

Punted in aft. Did not go over the rollers.
219 Sun. May 3.
Chapel at 9.15 as usual. As I had been to the 7.45 I got a healthy brekker.
We arranged for a long day in the punt. I left about 11.0 & took her over the Rollers to the Parks where Robinson & Dixon who had been to Southmoor Rd. for the lunch & tea basket met me. We got to Water Eaton & back about 8.30. Had dinner (or supper) at Southmoor Rd.
