Mon. Apr. 13]

Pat tried towing me but it was not very successful. The poor 2.h.p. Alcyon has not got the power to do it.

Still we arrived at Bromley about 4. having covered the 21 miles in 1 1/2 hrs 14 mph! not bad.

About 6. Mater & Pater came and after High Tea Mr & Mrs Fry & some other local people arrived. We spent the evening playing Auction Bridge.

Mater & Pater left about 11.0. I stayed as I am playing at the wedding to-morrow.

The last guests left about 12.0 So it was nearly 1.0 when I got to bed.

Tue. Apr. 14.

Went over to the Church at 10.45 to have a practise. Pat dug up a Blower. At 11.30 Mr Newton appeared on the scene with the Choir-boys and we had a practice of hymns, psalm & responses. This finished about 12.15. Lunch 12.30 and about 1.15 I was over at the church again. By-the-way I have not said much to you Mr Diary about this wedding. This letter will explain it best:-
