Tue. Feb. 10]

affectionate farewell of the Mater & Pater from the door of a G.C. train and at 8:50 reached Aylesbury. Exactly at nine we left the station and very soon we discovered that we had an 'orrid side wind to contend with. However all things come to an end some time, and so did the ride. At 11:10, after wandering down to the G.P.O. to send a card back to home, got into Coll.

Well I enjoyed the ride going, I enjoyed the day at home. I did not enjoy the ride back but I did enjoy bed!

Wed. Feb. 11

After yesterday's exertions we spent the day lazily. I even managed to wangle to Rowing people.

Thur. Feb. 12

Went down to row today but was not wanted. Sharp has chucked Rowing. He has gone off since his first viii days and seems now to have given up altogether. Thus Saxton has gone into first jogger & Leach into 2nd. The result is therefore that the spare four is no longer. Johnstone therefore ran with the boat & Giles & I came up.
