Had a "collekker" this a.m. on Plato's Apology. Found the paper fairly easy. Should get a S=1 think.
Saw Burney at 1.45. He actually wants me to do some work with him this term. He is lecturing for Driver as the poor old chap is ill, and wants me to go to those. As it is on ΨΨ Bk 2. which comes in for P & E I don't mind. He also wants Prose and Pointing once a week! The idea of a Regius Professorship in the distance seems to have worked him up. Being asked to deputise like this makes it look as if he has a good chance of a chair when Driver vacates it.

Went to Cowley at 10.45 with Harris. Took Dicky with us. Have solved the arrangements for the litany. They are thus wise:-

I can't quite fix the vestments yet. The celebrant, of course, wears a cope; the candleholders Albs; and the Deacons I don't know quite what. The Cantors I think wear chasubles.
Somewhere about "O Lord arise help us ...&c" they all proceed to their places for Mass. The two Cantors go to a desk in the middle of the Chancel where they remain all through the Eucharist. Returned via Uesopot???
