After our New Year ceremonies last night we - not unnaturally - did not rise with the lark to-day. As a matter of fact we had breakfast about 10.0.
After an early lunch Mary & I left Mr. & Mrs Ball at home to look after the house & went to Buxton to see the tobogganing. As a thaw has set in it was not so good as it might otherwise have been. However the tobogganers seemed to be enjoying themselves & we enjoyed watching them. We had tea at the "Shakespeare" and caught the 5.32 home. It was absolutely packed. However it carried us safely to Stockport which was the chief thing.
