Sat Dec.6

Don rag at 9.0. Got through successfully after what might have been an awkward inquiry on James' part re Latin Prose. Fortunately Jup came to the rescue & said that I had improved during the term.

Left at 9.25 en route for home on the bike. Unfortunately the wind had moved round to the E. This combined with very heavy roads made riding difficult. I rode about as hard as I could go and then took 2hrs 20min to reach High Wycombe where I caught the 11.55 to S. Harrow (GCR) I had meant originally to have cycled to Uxbridge but the road was too much for me, especially approaching the Stokenchurch Hill. I did the 8 miles from the top of that hill in to Wycombe in just under half an hour. Not so bad!

Got home about 12.45. Pater got in bout 1.45. The aft. was spent chattering So was the eve.

Sun Dec 7.

Went to the Hill at 11.0. Seemed quite natural to hear the old organ going it. Mr Ellis gave us a fine sermon on what is the aim of life? From the 3 points of view of a pagan (physical perfection), a civilised man (intellectual perfection), & a Xtian man (spiritual perfection). Wandered down to Greenhill in the aft. had quite a greeting after
