My dear Mother and Father,
Thank you both so much for your two letters of Aug 3rd. They came in last Thursday. The letter call went about 10% at night and there seemed no prospect of the Post carpool bringing them up then so Higgins and I wandered down to the library and fetched ours.
Thank you very much for the towels and things you say you are sending Mother. I expect they will be here in about 10 days time. I don't think it is so much the more frequent washing in India that ruins things Mother. It is rather a gentleman called the "Bloke".?? He doesn't mind whether it's a new towel or an old one, he sends it back with a hole in it just the same. It is popularly believed that he is heavily subsidised by the "durzee".
You will see signs of shot?? times in the orderly Rom and the admirals?? typnonites??
