The General was very nice about it all. I told him something of how the section had been mucked about and he merely called attention to me on two obvious points. One said that he needed more training. That anyone could see! Still he might have put it much differently. I have come to the conclusion that Generals are very decent sort of people!

By the time we got back from the Range and had checked ammunition it was 1.0 o/c.

The mail got in last night. Some letters only. Apparently several bags missed the connection at Aden. I got my papers but no letters.

Wednesday Feb. 16.

Started on a Miniature Postmark??? Course with the Section this morning. Split into two squads with Pull in one and myself in the other. We worked in camp. I sent out our two Barberry Mules with heavy loads to-day. One of them came back as quiet as a mouse, the other merely tired.

Played Hockey against the Staffords in the afternoon. They put out a team supposed to be a N. G. Team but it had 6 men from the companies in it. We lost 8 - 1. It was not
