Just dashed round making final arrangements this morning & getting furniture sorted out in the new Bungalow for the Summers.

At 12/0 I sallied forth to Khagoul on "Snooker". Sgt Bourne picked me up on the bike as I was going down so the 3 miles was not so tedious as it might have been. At the station I found (i) that the train would not be in at any rate till 1.30. (ii) that there wss no tiffin to be got. Eventually Wells & I tiffined on bacon & eggs, 1 tin of peaches & some lemonade!

The arrival of the train was put off & put off until eventually the Railway people said the train really was coming at 2.25 & in she came.

I hadn't any difficulty in finding the C.O. from Will's description of him. He is a cheery old soul, whose age is variously given at anything from 68 - 71. I gave him "some" salute & told him about general arrangements. Things soon got on the move & they marched off. Our drums led & our band met them halfway.

I waited on at the Station meaning to have come up with their C.O. Suddenly I saw that Wills & his had dis-appeared and that there was no sign of their C.O. So concluding that the trio had vanished together I rode back passing the battalion on the way. When I got back & saw ???? with
