Parade as usual this morning.
Set sail in a ghorri at 4.30 this aft with Lamont deVesian & Morword to go to Bankipore to a Garden Party given by N.E. All Bankipore & most of Dinepore were there and any amount of Maharajahs & people all in their most gorgeous costumes. It was quite interesting. N.E. gave us his car coming back. We had the big green Daimler. As it only holds 6 we tossed out. We finally left - about 6.45 - 7.0 with Major Hewlett, Capt. & Mrs. Hewlett Toovey Lamont & myself. We had quite an exciting drive. As we left there were two cars in front which refused to budge despite our locomotive whistle. However after about 1/2 mile our drive did get a chance - and took it.

So just to pay them out he drove for a bit with 2 wheels in the Kutcha. We raised some dust. We cut along at some speed but had to pull up hurriedly once for some cows which was too silly to move.
We reached Dinapore Club about 7.30 & I went off to change into Evening dress. Dined with the Stewarts. Major & Mrs. Mackenzie, Hobran, Manley & Marwood were there. We had quite a joly evening & left about 11.0.
