100. Sun. Feb. 7. )

off very well & as there was no sermon we got out quite early.

Orderly officer again today which is rather rough luck as I was in last Sunday & Thursday (i.e. 4 holidays running) However we don't grouse in the Army!

Slept in the aft and tried my enlarger in the eve. I find that it is useless with artificial light which is rather a nuisance, but as it only professes to be a daylight enlarger it is not altogether to be wondered at. I found it in possession of white ants who had begun to have a feed out of it. Fortunately I think I just caught them in time & they have done no real damage t oit. They are the first I have seen here but all the same we keep everything in line as for as poss.

Route March 8.15. Khagol & back. Jackson was O.C. & Higgins & myself 1/C B & A Co's resp. Back by 11.30. Dug a bit more out of our trenches on the aft. parade. and wrote from Tea till 6.0 when I went to meet Roe.

He turned up at the Mess & then went off to pick up the C.O.

He was very good, as he was last week. He talked about the German's Point of View & about the Eastern Theatre & the state of things there. He was very explicit & very interesting. About 6.50 he finished up.

Slacked till Mess. ???FLOWER PRESSING???
