Thus Feb. 4

Rained hard all the morning & continued on and off al day, so as Orderly Officer I had quite a cheery time.

Wrote vigorously all the morning slept ditto??? all the after noon & sent out C.E.M.S notices in the evening. The Gunners are going to camp on Sat so we have to be responsible for the choir on Sunday.

Fri. Feb. 5.

Raining again this morning. We bagged??? the gym and took the R.H. Coy up there from 9.30 - 10.30 & the L.H. Coy from 10.30 - 11.30. Hickling % I were there all the time. Quite busy thank you & quite tired after 2 hrs of it.

Slacked more or less all the aft. except for Pay at 3.15.

Sat Feb. 6.

Parade as usu. at 7.0.

Went digging at the Morning Parade. we occupied Wednesdays' outpost & line & started to dig in the piquet on the L.H. side of the Bdge. we are building 3 trenches.

We only worked 2 hrs but they are quite tenable??? now.

Horribly stiff to.day, after my exertions in the Gym yesterday. I was rather surprised at it, but there 'tis!

Slept in the aft. & went to the Mess at 6.0 to meet Oldham who came over from Banki???. to give us our 2nd C.E.M.S. Lecture. He took "India" as his subject. He gave us a condensed history of it & a short afc??? of the peoples & their religions. He was very good but much too long. He started at 6.20 & finished at
