Sat Jan 9. Early turn on the Range again today. Spen the Breakfast to Luncheon interval on averages again. I have made out a Coy.??? Musketry??? Book now & things shoud be easier, & quicker. Club after Tea. Left about 7.15 & dressed. Went out to dinenr with the Hohnsons at Khagol???. Peppe drove Morrell & myself down in the Gunner's Dog-Cart. We had quite a jolly evening & the horse galloped some coming back. 219 Sun Jan 10. Parade Service as usual at 11.0 Slacked in the aft. and went to Church again in the evening. Otherwise nothing doing.
Mon Jan 11 Happy as a Sandboy to.day. I went up to the Range early & when I went to the Mess for Lunch at 11.30 I found two letters from home waiting for me. The P.O. had sent them straight here. Also it was a cheery leter from the Mater. Even the Whetby??? Raid seemed quite overshadowed by a letter from Aden???. I was rather bored when I got on the Range at 1.0 to find my Marking Party not there. When they did arrive at 1.15 I think the N.C.O. i/e??? (L/Cpl Bulmer???) felt a little sorry for himself
