track as the ground is so dusty & we had only a scrubbing brush to do it with.

We got the semi circle ???DIAGRAM??? one end done & that was all.

It takes the dickens of a time.

Sat. Dec.19

Polo Ground again. ??? ??? again then Musketry.

Did some more sports marking this aft. The course is finished now except that there is not a firm line all the way. Part of it is only dotted.

Sauewell told me tonight when I asked him that any leave has been granted. i.e. Sun night to Wed morning Calcutta.

Wed morning to Sunday morning Durn Raon.

Sun. Dec. 20.

Church Parade was late this morning consequently our Parade was too-viz. 9.18.

Parade Service was much as last Sunday we had a C.E.M.S. Sermon.

Spent the rest of the morning after church in getting things ready for departure to Calcutta tonight.

I had a few shots with my new Browning this aft. I find it throws horribly low.- Curious.

At. 40 I assisted as judge at some heats of the Regimental Sports. The walk was the worst. I rode steadily round and round the track for 3 miles watching heel & toe, heel & toe. The two leaders were Brooks and Brodie.

Brodie croaked rather in the last lap. Brooks like a sport slowed up & they strolled in together- a dead heat.

About 5.10 we had to give

Found some of the names difficult, sorry.
