Tea to Dinner. After Dinner both ?Hickling and I lay down for a snooze in our clothesw. I was awakened by the light being switched on a voice "Say do you know what the time is?" "No" 2.15. So we thought it quite time to get into pajamas which we did accordingly.
Sat. Oct. 31.
Woke up in "the bay" Quite a fair swell on which results in some ?rocking?, though this probably due partly to our slow speed.
Paraded ?ab 20.0? I am in charge of a boat: crazy looking old thing which would probably fall to bits in the water. She is right after, when "C". ?Coy? parade and : my crew is drawn from "C" Coy The parade lasted
S.S. Awana. Sat. Oct. 31.
while the O.C. troops inspected the mens quarters below. The O.C. Brecknock "Shives" is O.C. troops on ?Bilwana?. He is Col.Lord ?Glamisk". The Breck nock shives officers are an aufully nice lot. Five of us ?Middx? officers sit at their table and fill up and hence we are getting to know some of them.
Our Steering Geer went awry ?order? Somewhat this morning but they managed to put it right.
Had a sleep after lunch. Lounged on deck in afternoon. Went to bed directly after dinner.

Was awakened at 2.15 by violent rocking. I thought yesterdays weather was too good to be true for the bay. We had a true specimen of a Biscay Swell
