for Edgware. Pater went in to see Mr. Wainwright while I went in to try & get the kick of his crank (due to a worn cotter) mended. The cotter they put in was soft. Result. After 5 mins decent running it was worse than ever. Near Stanmore Station in an endeavour to improve matters I split the nut, so Pater went by train while I towed the bike. We met quite by accident at Harrow Station so getting a new nut at Bunting's he rode it home, with some assistance from me.

Hill at 6.0. I played.
Went to St. Andrews at 11.0. Service very nice but music a series of Anthems. Too elaborate for my liking!
Did not go out in aft. In eve went to St. Peter's, Simpson preached. As usual very good.
Monday Apr 13
Pat came over on the motor about 11.30 to try some hills. He got up Grove Hill non-stop & Roxeth with a bit of a struggle. Then it was lunchtime. Soon after lunch we set out for Bromley.
