Fri. Feb 30
Ran with the Joggers again to-day. Our second went down to Worcester at the Barges when that had only about 100 yds to go which was rough luck. Had Leakie coxed rather better I think we might have held out. He did not keep close enough in. After the race when they were paddling clear our rudder DIAGRAM??? took off the mascot Worcester had on their bows and landed it in the water. A Worcester man dived in from the bank & rescued it with much gusto. I hope that is an omen that we shall bump them to-morrow.
Balliol got within about 6 feet of our first, but could get no further. We (!) rowed beautifully & kept them off. Magdalen similarly kept the House off.
Wrote home from Ugger in eve.
Sat Feb 21
Paper on Apol. & Meno this morning. Got on "pass-ably" I think.
Robinson came in to lunch. Owing to rain we did not run with the Joggers. Neither boat bumped or was bumped. Spent eve printing photos of Robinson.
Sun. Feb. 22.
Went to Lunch and Tea with Robinson. Took him & Stainsby. Developed them at 6.30. Did not go out after Hall.
Mon Feb 23
Ran with second Jogger. Bumped by Oriel -.! First bumped by Balliol ! -!* ! &C??? I think they will stick there right now though 2nd will prob. go down to Keble.
