the altar towards the east. The church was very comfortably full. About 250 I should say all undergrads except about a dozen. We had three hymns. The Administration was performed thus:- The Bishop celebrated & his chaplain served. There were 6 other clergy helping. After the Consecration four of them went with their vessels to the side altar and administered there. The church was roughly divided into two parts and we were told which altar to go to. All went in turn so that there was no disorder, no confusion.

There was another 300 or so at the 8.0 service so I was told. Quite an excellent turn out.

Rowed in aft. Did some real rowing to-day.

Went to Robbie's to Dinner.

Tues Feb 10

Oh it has been a "great day". We arose at 7.30. told Gus we should be out to Brekker and proceeded to devour some provisions we had laid in yesterday in Dickie's Bedder. At 8.15 we set out. Found the roads extraordinarily heavy and as a consequence discovered when just through Thame that we had 8 miles to do in half an hour in order to catch the 10.7. We decided therefore to take
