of time taking a girl who was floundering about the along the barriers. She was not very pretty and not a skater but I could have taught her enough "to go" alone in another 1/2 hr had time allowed.

In the eve we went to the Vic Hall to the St John's Social Club Panto "Cinderella." They gave a very good performance. Rather better, on the whole than Aladdin last year I think. Pater was bored by the band - the Harrow Bijou Orchestra - which certainly was rather too vigorous. However I suppose they wanted to earn their money.

Rowdon had to go home by train instead of bike as he had intended, owing to rain.

Fri Jan 9

Spent the morning trying to intensify some negatives I took at Buxton on the 1st of tobogganers. Rather unsuccessful as there was very little to intensify. Rather too cold to venture out far so we had to content ourselves with pottering about indoors.

Sat Jan 10

Pater left by the 11.30 from Wealdstone (LNW) this a.m. Saw him off.

Went over to Willesden in the eve to say good bye to various people. Saw Mr and Mrs Arthur???, Uncle Wallace and Aunt Rhoda & then went on to Uncle Jim's. Found Grannie Dodridge alone in possession. While we were chatting with her Uncle Jim came in
