Went around to call for Broadie at 10.0 for an Org. lesson. He was not up! Postponed it till Monday.

Caught the 11.10 to Chorley Wood. Called in to see Mrs. Pratt. She has been ill since Aug. She apparently caught a germ of some sort, and this germ gives you six months illness of various sorts Got home again about 1.45.

Mater's At Home day - but no one came.

Pater and I went to the cinema in the evening. Nothing striking on. Star film was "Caste".

As Miss Moores is away in Manchester I took my old class today in Sunday School. Quite enjoyed doing so. Went to Greenhill with Mater in the eve. Had carols with notes on each by the Rev. Thomas Smith. After the service there was a litany of intercession for Ulster "that the calamity of Civil War may be averted". The service has the Bishop's Sanction and may do something to prove the gravity of the situation to some who are still inclined to treat it as a huge joke on the part of Ulster (i.e. apart, of course, from its primary purpose)
