I don't yet know whether he will actually take charge of this section or whether I shall be left with the two as we are very short of officers at present. It is rumoured that there are 6 more coming out, after all. They would have been goodneighbours. It is the old Tale of"He who hesitates".
There is absolutely "knock wood???" news this week. The only exciting event was killing a "kinte???". A nasty gentleman is the kinte???! He is the most poisonous snake in India. I give you about 10 mins after he has bitten you. Now don't go imagining Khauspur??? as alive with nasty poisonous one Ive seen in 2 years & only the 4ihs??? snake if any kind I've come across. One is the snake at one's foot & can't get through leather. They get natives because they don't wear boots and very often not even shoes.
Even if we've got snakes out there the mortality from them is nothing like that of insects in hordes! So snakes have their compensations.
You will see from my Diary that I am going on a Lewis Gun Course. It is rather a nuisance as it comes just when I least want it. And I'[m not very keen on the Lewis Gun anyway.
