in my Diary this week Mother. There is a start time usually in the ordely Rome from about 10/0 to 11/0 When we have polished of the srequiental??? work and are waiting for the Prot.??? That ime is quite useful for writing (or typing) up this Diary.

I am suprised to hear Bert has got his discharge. I suppose it is his old troubles.

You say you have had a heat wave Mother. You know people in England don't know how to look after themselves in hot weather. They are afraid to put on this kit and of course Electric fans and things might almost as well not exist. I suppose the difference out here is that we know??? are is "in" for 6 months hot weather + makes his plans accordingly.

I expect you saw the report Mi. Chamberlain made in the house about the "Troop Drain". Pesonally Mother I haven't much sepugoothy??? for the 3 people who got the sack. They deserved rather more. They way in which troops are moved about in this Country is the absolute limit. Imagine Carraiges like those old North Loudare??? Thirds. Imagine doing 1500 miles in them with the Temperature about 100*-110* in the shade. Those are the sort of conditions under which troops move. Though normally perhaps the Temperature is not quite so high. It's the limit!

The news of Rumania Carring??? in is the best we have had for some time isn't it?
