Orderly Room in the morning. The C.O. was away so Major Hewert was O.C. Not an extraordinarily busy morning.
Rode to Dungha Gali + back in the afternoon.
Saturday August 19th
O/R. in. au.???
walked to Dengha in aft. as the Footer Match we were to have played against the sergeants was scratched.
The C.C. M.A. examined the machine guns this morning. He did it very thoroughly and found most things in them loose. It was quite funny to hear him - "Sangeant Sight - loose" "Feed block - loose" "Cover - loose" "Crank - loose" - oh sent it back to Ishapore for over haul. Both the guns have to be sent back for overhaul and repair. Otherwise we were fairly complete.
This C.C> M.A. is much more thorough than the man we had last time. The bore of the guns had increased to an average of 309 instead of 303!
