Rawal Pindi

My dear Mother & Father-

Thank you both very much indeed for your two letters which arrived today. I think it will be best if you start addressing letters "Rawal Pindi" once again, as we shall probably leave here about October 15th and we are more likely to go to Pindi than anywhere, I think, and in any case Pindi will find us.

Vesta is not what we would describe as a very wealthy gentleman though his father has a very nice wholesale coal business I think and he has just made him a junior partner!

I have heard nothing of ??? for sometime when I last heard he was at Cambridge.

I was afraid you would worry over our shooting expedition Mother - but no news is good news because they always cable if anything happens so that you would have had it before the letter!

Thank you very much for the cake which arrived in the ??? parcel Mother. The parcel was "damaged" when it got here but the cake wasn't & the shortbread was also very nice. Both disappeared very quickly.
