Khausper??

N.W.F.P.

August 10th

My dear Mother & Father

Thank you very much for your letter of July 11th Mother. It arrived last Friday. The arrival of the English mail in India is quite as important as the arrival of the Indian mail England.

The letter to Harris has been returned "unknown" so I have sent it back to Oxford - perhaps it will get to him that way. I should like to know where he is.

I was surprised to hear that Rawdon?? is back again - wounded. He is almost lucky.

I had a letter from Dumond?? this week. He is very "fed up" at being sick. Still he can't help it poor chap. I hope he will soon be fit again. It is quite in the cards that he may get sent out here. They have sent a lot of R. & M. C. men out lately who have been invalided?? from one or other of the ??? particularly from Gallipolli.

Thank you for Parcel No. 1 which arrived this week. The Cake and the shortbread are very acceptable & the foote??? shorts will be useful.

I daresay Miss Dumes??? would recognise
