Tommy greeted me, as I went down to Breakfast this morning, with obvious excitement. (I mean Tommy was excited- I wasn't) "Heard the news?" I had to say I had not. "1000 carval escents Comming in "D" Company going to Attack, rest of us going to camp at Keya??? Gali!" Startling enough to be disturbing to a quiet Breakfast! Kuya??? Gali - by the way - is a little bump out of the hills here with a fairly level piece of ground about 100 yds x 20, where presumeably the tents will be.
Lamont + I went up to Mrs. Hewett's in the afternoon for Tea + called in to see Jack Hewlett on the way. He told us that the Keya??? Gali idea is "off" + that we are going to camp on the Football ground here instead! I don't quite know which of the two possibilities pleases me least.
We had a pleasant afternoon at the Hewetts. Frank + Mrs. Stratton were there as well. Mrs. Hewett has had rather a bad time with a swollen face said to be due to a species of Nettle Rash, but was her usual cheery self with it all.
