Started Musketry to-day. We were firing this morning. Tried Grouping at 100 and put in a 4???. 200 Slow and Rapid 16/20 and 19/40 respectively.
Had the first meeting of the C.??? of Adjustment to-day. Just found out what we had to do.
Mess Bills??? arrived to day. Mine is ??? Rs46! They accumulated a capital while at Driapok??? by charging contingent charges at about 70 rupees a month more than they really were. This Capital has now been shared out in terms of the number of days each man was in mess, and an entrance fee levied in terms of days pay.
My share of capital is Rs 159 and my entrance fee is Rs 83 so I am Rs 76 "in" over??? the deal which pays my 5 days mess bill for sure and leaves 46 rupees to go on with for next month.
Most of the subaltems??? are lucky but most of the captains have to fork out over it. The Co. has to pay 250 chips! The difference comes from the fact that we all payed equally before, now we pay ??? sub??? in proportion to our pay and also shall pay contingent charges in similar proportion-- so it is the 2nd lieutenants "day out".
